Redley Exantus was born and raised in New York City where she started her fashion studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology near the garment district in Manhattan. She worked during two years at Calvin Klein Inc. for the Calvin Klein Collection. Redley then moves to Switzerland to finish her design studies during which she wins the first prize at the Podium Femina de la Mode, an important fashion prize in Switzerland. Redley graduates from the Geneva University of Art and Design with a BA in Fashion and Accessories design. Redley opens up a showroom and atelier called Collective Hanger in the industrial area of Geneva where she began working on her first women's wear collection with the help of two bursaries, one the State fund for Contemporary Art and the other from the City of Geneva's Cultural Affaires Bureau. That same year Redley was invited to present her collection during Tokyo fashion week and was published in a book show casing emerging swiss fashion designers called "Indexé Stylisme".
The exantus collection is made with the finest quality fabrics notably the frenchmade silk from the maison Belinac in Saint- Etienne founded 1882. The garments in the collections are produced by ateliers in Switzerland.
Redley’s collections are a fusion of the “American Ready-to-Wear” approach which is modern yet functional and mixing it with the "Old World" Europeancraft a more hands on couture approach.
“My designs are based on my own definition of urban sophistication a marriage between a technically functioning design and a sensual aesthetic with flowing movement in the clothes.”
